A Perfect Kindle Example!

Last week I had to travel cross country. On the plane I saw two people reading. One with a conventional hard cover book and the other with a Kindle reader. It was an interesting study.

The person with the Kindle took out his Kindle and started reading. Throughout the flight he changed from one book to another and even had some articles and magazines on it as well. It was easy for him to change and he seemed to enjoy going from one thing to another.

The other person with the hard cover book was amusing in some ways. We all know how cramped airlines make it these days and every time this poor fellow wanted to read his book, or something else, he had to twist down to grab his carry on, twist it up and out, dig through it to find what he wanted, and then go through the same thing again to put it back. It seemed to be an effort and not a pleasent one at that! Plus, the people on either side of him did not enjoy it either……

Life should be about making things easier not harder and often the cost of doing so makes something well worth it. In this case, the cost of the Kindle, which has been reduced by the way, made this passenger, and those around him, happier and made life more convenient. It might seem like a trivial thing unless you are the people involved.

It’s something that you dont even think about when you have a Kindle…………..

Kindle & The Boy Scout Motto…….

I remember from my days in the Boy Scouts that their motto was “Be Prepared”. When I was young I never really understood exactly what that meant but now that I am older and wiser (ok, maybe just older!),  it is now that I understand the importance of being prepared for the things that life throws your way.

I tell my children it is better to do your best and prepare yourself for what comes at you in life so you can never look back and kick yourself because you were not prepared for an opportunity or situation that pops up in your life. I explain to them that it is all right to fail and that most people can handle failure and even learn from it. It is when you don’t give things your best and then fail because of that that most people have problems with. sometimes a lifetime worth of regret or looking back.

Now you might be wondering just what the heck this has to do with Kindle wireless readers. After all, this is a Kindle site about Kindle readers. But the fact is, Kindle readers make it easier to be prepared in a lot of cases. Life is all about information and Kindles are all about storing information.

Think about this for a moment. One of the great things about Kindles is that they can store and read PDF files. There is a ton of information out there on PDF and there are several free programs that allow you and I to create PDF files of anything we want. Now if you put the two together, that means our Kindles can store any information we might want or need at any given time! Now that we understand the power of that, let’s talk about applications.

We all know that Kindles are great for business use where you need access to literature, training or service manuals or sales information. But think about how great it would be to have important medical information at your fingertips while you are on vacation hundreds of miles away! Think about how cool it would be to have directions to everyplace you wanted to visit at your fingertips without carrying a file full of papers! Or maybe information about the local tourist spots you want to see so you don’t forget their phone numbers or other data.

Life is difficult as it is with a lot of things to read and remember. Kindles make life that much easier and that is no small accomplishment. Many people say that life is harder now than ever before and there is a lot of merit to what they are saying. But we have tools and devices available to us now that make life just a little bit easier and Kindles are one of them.

Why not give some thought on how you could use your Kindle? then go out and get one and make your life a little easier!

Becoming a “Kindle” Fanatic!

We all know someone who is a fanatic about something! whether it is the latest gadget, the best tool, or something that they just swear by. Well, for us, that product is the Kindle. Quite frankly, we are suprised about that!

The thing about the Kindle is, until you actually use one, you never fully understand just how great the darn thing actually is! We could talk about it all day long and you still wouldn’t understand but it is a great tool and a great way to get more out of reading!

We all have been away from home, or maybe out of reach of something we feel like reading at that particular moment. maybe we are thousands of miles away on vacation or just out in the back yard and the book is in the den. Whatever the situation, until you have the ability of just clicking a button and bringing what you want up on that screen, you won’t fully understand just how great that is!

For example, we were on vacation and one of our friends was down on the beach with us and he finished his book. He wanted to start another one but he had to go off the beach and up to the room to get it. Doesn’t sound like a big deal but when you are on vacation you don’t want to be inconvenienced to do anything!

One time one of us had a service tech come to the house to work on an appliance and while he was there we asked him about something else. He did not have the manual so he could not answer the question. He offerred to set up another service call (at our expense of course!) when he could have had everything at his fingertips had he been using a Kindle to hold ALL his service manuals!

Everyday we run into situations or hear stories that remind us just how much potential this device has and how more businesses should be using them to improve productivity and increase sales. I guess we feel that way because we are fanatics. But part of me feels that way because not only are we fanatics, we also feel that we are right about the Kindle…..

Why You Should NOT Buy a Kindle!

There are pros and cons to everything so in this post, we will discuss why you should NOT buy a Kindle wireless reader.

Obviously if you don’t read books or articles, or PDFs or any of the many other formats and applications available to Kindle users, then you really shouldn’t buy one.

After all, why buy a Kindle wireless reader if you are not going to use it?

But for anyone else, Kindles really have no drawbacks! They allow people unparalleled choices of reading material, allow their users to carry thousands of books and files with them wherever they go, and they offer a vastly superior reading experience!

I guess if you really want to find another reason not to buy a Kindle wireless reading device, I guess you could also say because it is something new and differant and some people just dont like anything new and different!

So if you were one of those people who refused to buy one of those “new fangled CD things” and continued buying records, then perhaps you shouldn’t buya Kindle now although you probably will buy one in the future!

If you are one of those people still using floppy disks instead of CD-ROM’s then maybe you should hold off.

And, if you are one of those people still using Betamax or VHS tapes instead of watching movies on DVD or a DVR, then perhaps you should wait as well.

For everyone else who reads, though, Kindles are the way to go and something that should be in your hands now or in the near future!

Sorry for the short posts but I just could not figure out any reasons not to buy and use a Kindle………

More Than You Will Ever Need (But It’s Nice To Know It’s There!)

I read a lot. In fact, my wife says I read too much. I have been known to read a book in a single sitting if it is good enough. But hey, that’s just me. But Kindles are meant for both people like me and people like you or your next door neighbor. They have something for everyone no matter what your need might be.

For example, Kindles can hold approximately 1,500 books at a time. Now that is a lot of books and most of us would never want or need access to that many at one time but the capacity is still there. What’s cool is that with all that capacity, you can keep those “classics” right there anytime you would like to read them again.

Maybe it’s that great book of recipes or a book of special poetry. hey, whatever you are into Kindle can hold a lot of it! Now, I know what you are saying. “Who would want all those books in there at the same time”? Heck, that’s a valid question so let me ask you something…..

10 years ago, do you think you would have said you wanted to hold 7,000 songs on a device you could stick in your pocket? Those of us who grew up in the 70’s or 80’s or even early 90’s were happy with a tape that could hold maybe 25-30 songs. But now we love to be able to carry our entire collection with us.

Kindles are great because they let us have more of what we want at our fingertips when we want it. Kindles allow us the flexibility to say “Hey, I miss reading Mark Twain, I think I’ll read some now. No matter if you are 25,000 miles from home, your Kindle will pull up anything you want whenever you want it!

Since the Kindle also reads PDF files as well, the storage in a Kindle has a lot more uses for people who regularly need access to PDF’s for their business or their job. Kindles are meant for all of us for all of our needs for all of our demands.

Electronic Book Readers Are The Easiest Way To Read!

If you haven’t had the privilege of using a Kindle, you are missing out on a great way to read! It is the easiest way to read your favorite books no matter where you are or what you are doing! They are easy on the eyes and lighter than almost any book you are likely to read! Plus, there are other advantages as well.

Kindles, also called wireless reading devices, are the new generation of electronic devices designed to make our lives easier. Anyone who has packed 4 or 5 books in a bag for vacation, or lugged heavy books to the beach or carried them in their briefcase will appreciate just how easy it is to load a few of your favorite books into the device and slip it in your carry on or briefcase. No heavy books to lug around and no more back aches from heavy bags of books.

Speaking of bags, have you ever tried to jam 3 or 4 books into a small airline carry on so you could read on a long plane flight? If so, you know the small bags they let you use barely have room for the essentials let alone a few novels or so.

With a Kindle, or wireless reading device, you just slip the Kindle into your carry on or handbag and you are set to go! Read as much as you want quietly and easily even in cramped quarters!

Battery life is not an issue either with hours and hours and hours of reading before you have to recharge! All in all the Kindle is one of those items you never thought you would want until you use it. Then, you’ll wonder how you ever lived without it!
